For the second week in a row we get to venture into the creative minds behind the fantastic film that showcases the lies disguised as truth; Hoaxed. This week on The Malliard Report, Jim welcomes co-directors Jon du Toit and Scooter Downey to the show to discuss their inspirations behind the film, how they got into the industry, the non-deniable godfather of the “truther” movement, and how different players within industries use questionable tactics in silencing any view that may happen to go against the narrative.
Twitter, YouTube (one of the worst offenders of such), Facebook, Reddit, and many others have a very well-known reputation for implementing “shadow bans” on vocal violators of the mainstream train of thought. Anyone that seems to question what is placed before them openly may find themselves the victim of a said shadow ban. Shadowbanning is the act of blocking or partially blocking a user or their content from an online community such that it will not be readily apparent to the user that they have been banned. For instance, shadow banned comments posted to a blog or media site will not be visible to other persons accessing that site from their computers. Jon and Scooter is no stranger to being a victim of this practice weren’t surprised when they found that they had been on several outlets for their film, but imagine their astonishment when they learned that Amazon outright removed the film entirely. If ever there was an indicator that you are doing something in the truth movement, this certainly is the case.
This is another great episode that digs into the great minds of a great film. In this show, they also discuss the impact that Alex Jones has made on the movement and the inspiration that he is to many. Love him or hate him, it is impossible to deny the role he has had on the awakening that is growing. Their thoughts on American politics as viewed by the international community, and much more. If you still have not seen the film Hoaxed yet, spend a couple of bucks it takes to rent and do yourself a favor. You can follow Jon and Scooter on Twitter ( Jon - @jondutoit) (Scooter - @TrueLegendFilms) so give them a shout out and tell them what you thought about the film.
